On this Valentine’s Day, I think it is appropriate to share my love of books and, in particular, to share my admiration for the novel Secret Lives of Mothers & Daughters by the talented Anita Kushwaha. New Year’s Eve 2018, I was in the ER with one of my sisters who had become very ill and it would take her several months to recover and, fortunately, she did. I remember the snow/freezing rain that came through that evening as 2018 was ending. I also left a position I had been at for five years and was trying to balance being a caregiver to my sister, elderly mother and beginning a new job and, of course, squeezing in some writing time.
